Investor Economics

Insurance Advisory Service June 2016

Throughout the first five months of 2016, the cautious disposition of investors has become apparent in Canadian markets. The segregated funds industry is no exception to the trend.

Despite a positive total market effect, year-to-date, overall activity in the segregated funds space has not met last year’s levels. Investors have begun turning away from traditionally riskier asset classes and those seeking international exposure have increasingly turned to fixed income and balanced funds.

The current issue of the report provides an updated view of the segregated funds industry, to May 2016.
