Insurance Advisory Service April 2019

The Insurance Advisory Service provides an in-depth analysis of segregated fund trends. The report covers movements in total assets, gross sales, redemptions, and net flows while breaking down each measure by traditional and guaranteed withdrawal benefit (GWB) products. The report details each of these metrics at the asset class level for both product structures and provides views of monthly and yearly changes in each figure. Firm level and fund level rankings are also displayed based on largest and best-selling complexes and funds. Each monthly issue further delves into segregated funds that wrap mutual funds, providing industry level visuals of the proprietary and third-party categories, as well as firm level rankings.

Section 2 of this issue includes a set of quarterly charts detailing segregated fund first quarter results at both the sponsor and the fund level, as well as segregated funds that wrap mutual funds.

In addition, Section 3 provides the results of our Semi-Annual Segregated Fund Survey. This spotlight provides detailed assets and gross sales data for both traditional and GWB segregated funds, split by distribution channel, region, age profile, registration, load structure, and more.
