Insurance Advisory Service October 2022—Semi-Annual GIA and Annuities Update

A new deliverable has been added to the Insurance Advisory Service, focusing on Payout Annuities (PAs) and retail Guaranteed Interest Annuities (GIAs). 


The first installment including data through mid-2022 is now available. This report will be updated on a semi-annual basis going forward, with a target publication date of April and October of each year, providing a refresh of the data through the end and middle of the year, respectively. 


The report includes information on in-force and new business for PAs and GIAs. Data is segmented by tax status, provincial distribution, and age of annuitants, among other metrics. Company rankings are also included.
