Research on Mutual Fund Load Options in Canada
There was a time when load funds, particularly those with deferred sales charges, accounted for the vast majority of mutual fund assets and sales. The prevalence of point-of-sale commissions, however, has been in decline for well over a decade, as no load fund options (which includes F-series) have gained ground.
The March 2020 Insight research feature examines trends in load structures from multiple vantage points, including asset growth, sales and redemption trends, and by sponsor category. The Trendlines article at the end of the report tracks the evolution of load options in the segregated funds platform.
